The Son and the Moon

I need to post this Katelyn-ism before I forget, even though it's technically old news. Before our ultrasound, Katelyn asked me one night if I hoped the baby would be a boy or a girl.

Me: "It doesn't matter. I love having girls, but since I already have two, it might be fun to have a son." (I was trying to maintain a neutral front.)

Katelyn: "Huh?"

Me: "I said, it might be fun to have a son."

After thinking about it for a minute, Katelyn looked up at me and asked, "Does that mean that me and Emily are your moons?"

I'm still laughing about it. I do love my two moons.

  1. This is great! You do have gorgeous moons! If your next moon is as beautiful as your first two, you should probably keep having more.

  2. You have to be in top form to raise Miss Katelyn. She cracks me up, and I'm happy you're keeping track of her wisdom.

  3. That is classic. I asked Rachel (hypothetically, of course) what she would like to name her baby sister. Her reply: Grandma. This is why we shouldn't let children pick their siblings names.
